Squirrel and Raccoon Removal Services — April 18, 2008
The female raccoons are right on schedule this year. Since the last update we've been busy removing female raccoons and juveniles from attics and chimneys almost daily. These raccoon evictions are without question the most challenging (physically) jobs that we do all year. It seems like I'm either sitting inside a fireplace covered in soot or sweating in a hot attic covered in insulation trying to coax a big, angry female raccoon into a trap.
Besides raccoons we've been getting lots of calls for both gray and flying squirrels which is very common for the month of April. In the last two weeks we've also seen the large brown bats become active. On several occasions we've witnessed active bats entering and exiting attics already. So basically we've been doing a little bit of everything right now and will continue to do so throughout the month of May until the hot weather gets here and we switch into bat mode. Here are some pictures and video from the last month.
Scituate Raccoon Removal
This project portrays the classic raccoon in the attic problem. The damaged vent, the big female on the inside and the pups in the nest.

Cape Cod Raccoon Removal
We removed these masked bandits from a newly-renovated home in Sandwich MA. The female was entering through a chimney and then into the attic through a hole in the side of the chimney. Very strange. I had to cut a hole in the cathedral ceiling to remove the last pup.
North Kingstown RI Squirrel Removal
On a recent squirrel/mice job in North Kingstown I got a great picture of a newly-evicted gray squirrel. On the outside, looking in...that's just how our customers like them!
Stow MA Squirrel Removal
These pictures show another classic example of a squirrel infestation. The gray squirrel sitting on the roof at the entry point, the hole that the squirrel chewed through the ridge vent to gain access to the attic and the nest that the squirrel made once it got inside the attic.
Upton Squirrel Removal
At this house in Upton we had both gray and flying squirrels in the attic of the house. I caught the gray squirrel poking his head out of it's hole as I arrived. Also shown is a beautiful picture of flying squirrel droppings. I left the second picture very large so that you can see the detail.
Be sure to check back in May to see another BatGuys Wildlife Update!
